Used by security companies right across the UK
Cloud-based, so there is no engineer visit and no regional pricing. Wherever your sites are, setup happens on a screen share and you are live the same day.
Why there is no such thing as "coverage" with cloud software
Security operators are used to asking suppliers whether they cover a particular area, because in this industry most things involve somebody driving to you — engineers fitting readers, trainers running sessions, account managers doing quarterly reviews.
None of that applies here, and that is a large part of why the price is £60 a month. There is no hardware to install, so nobody needs to visit. Setup is a screen share. Training is five minutes per officer, done at a handover by your own supervisor. Support is a phone call.
What does vary by region is the kind of work our customers do, and that changes how they configure the system.
What we see in different parts of the UK
London & the South East
The densest concentration of contract guarding in the country — high site counts, short travel distances between them, and clients who expect same-day incident reporting. Mobile patrol firms here typically run twenty to fifty sites a night, which is exactly where required-visit-count reporting earns its keep.
The Midlands
Distribution and logistics country. Large yards, long perimeters, trailer parks and fuel bays — sites where a mix of NFC checkpoints at the gates and GPS points along the fence line covers the ground without fitting hundreds of tags.
The North West & Yorkshire
A heavy mix of construction, retail parks and event work, often within the same contract book. Companies here tend to make most use of one-off event rosters sitting alongside regular static cover.
The South West & Wales
Longer distances between sites and more rural locations, which puts a premium on offline capability. Scans and reports queue on the handset and sync when the officer reaches signal.
Scotland
Long winter nights, remote sites and a lot of lone working. Check-in timers and SOS alerts matter more here than almost anywhere, and are included on every plan.
Northern Ireland
Smaller operators covering a broad mix of commercial, retail and construction work, where a flat company price rather than a per-guard licence makes a material difference to margin.
What does not change wherever you are
The same price
£60 up to 40 guards and £100 up to 100 — no regional pricing, no travel charges, no site survey fee.
The same support
UK phone, email and WhatsApp, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm, included in the price whether you are in Croydon or Caithness.
The same setup speed
A screen share, an hour, and your first site is configured. Nobody waits three weeks for an engineer slot.
A note on working outside the UK
Around a fifth of our enquiries come from outside Britain, usually from operators who have found us while searching for affordable guard tour software. The platform itself has no geographic limits: it is cloud hosted, the interface is available in English, French, German, Italian, Greek and Portuguese, and it handles multiple currencies and time zones.
The honest caveat is support hours. Our team works UK time, so if you are in a very different time zone you will get same-working-day replies rather than instant ones. Most international customers find that fine, but it is worth knowing before you sign up rather than after.
Coverage questions
Yes. SMS-Patrol is cloud-based, so there is nothing to install and no engineer visit. Wherever your sites are in the UK — or outside it — the system works the same way. Setup and training are done over a screen share.
No, and that is deliberate. Site visits are one of the biggest hidden costs in this sector. You fit the checkpoint tags yourself during a normal patrol, which takes an hour or two per site.
Support is the same wherever you are: phone, email and WhatsApp, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm UK time. We do not have regional tiers.
Yes. The system has no geographic restrictions within the UK, and customers run it across all four nations.
It works anywhere with a mobile signal. The interface supports several languages and multiple currencies. Our support hours remain UK-based.
